Microsoft Wants To Bring Xbox Emulation Onto The PC

Microsoft has high hopes for the device, which is the second 4K-supporting console to enter the video game market following Sony's PS4 Pro previous year.

Once the Xbox One X hits stores later this year, both Microsoft and Sony will have launched three flavors of their home game consoles.

"The Xbox One X looks like a bit of a beast but for me, I come to these things and I want to see the games and we saw a lot of really impressive CG trailers but where's the game play in that?"

Spencer touted his console's superior GPU, CPU, RAM, and while those are facts, it is also a fact that Xbox One S is nowhere in the same league as PlayStation 4 Pro. "This is a true 4K console". It's expensive compared to other game consoles, and it's expensive when you're not comparing it to anything.

Xbox One X has been unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017, shedding its previous name as Project Scorpio.

Speaking to Giant Bomb (via Gamespot), Spencer said that supporting original Xbox games on Xbox One is more technically challenging than Xbox 360, and touched on the rights issue as another bump in the road.

But if you can get past the straight-up comparison with the PlayStation 4 Pro and other consoles and look at the Xbox One X from some different perspectives, it actually looks like a good deal.

"We have the world's most powerful console and like with any kind of consumer product out there, there's a certain customer that walks in and says, 'I just want the very best.' And we have the very best, the world's most powerful console".

So if you pre-order Xbox One X you get to not only enjoy a 1 month Xbox Game Pass trial, but you also get to get your hands on a 14 day Xbox Live Gold trial as well. "We're focusing on Xbox One S and Xbox One X and the games you're going to play", Spencer said.
