It's a freshman run in the National Basketball Association draft

Put simply, the Philadelphia 76ers are loaded with talent.

Jun 22, 2017; Brooklyn, NY, USA; Lauri Markkanen (Arizona) shows off the inside of his suit jacket as he is introduced as the number seven overall pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft at Barclays Center.

"It's insane, I couldn't ask for anything more, to be able to learn from (Johnson) every day is truly a blessing", Ball said.

Can't really blame him, Chick-fil-A is pretty good. "But there was clearly a fire burning that was ridiculous".

The Huskies dismal record during Fultz's freshman year caused more than a few scouts to question his competitive fire and whether he can make a team better.

"This is a dream come true", Fultz said. "And when you have that from a coach, it makes the players wanna work that much harder I think". ". I've been through a lot growing up, and I'm looking forward to coming here and giving it my all".

"I don't think it's one thing I can't do".

Washington's Markelle Fultz, right, poses for a photo with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as the No. 1 pick.

Fultz, Simmons and another recent Sixers high draft pick, Joel Embiid, form a promising young trio that could allow Philadelphia to rise from the lower depths of the league.

Then he had the anticipation of the actual draft in New York City with public appearances and media circuits all before his name was called Thursday night. After a rough year in Minnesota (take notice, Sixers fans), the Wolves will have increased expectations in 2017-18. Between his sophomore and junior years in high school, he grew from 5-foot-9 to 6-4. "He can see passes and plays that nobody else can". Nowadays in the National Basketball Association everybody has different people bringing up the ball and that's just what you have to do to win. That imagination is something that's really strong.

Ultimately, where this deal is going to be judged is by how he meshes with Ben Simmons on the court.

■ Fultz, who, like Simmons, is a guard without a particular job description.

"I'm very excited, just like the fans in Philly, how they back up their players", Fultz said. "Definitely was, and now I'm just focused on playing", Lonzo Ball said.

"Everything we are doing with this roster is designed with a championship in mind", said team president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo.

Fultz is now walking into an inferno of attention. Unfortunately for Fultz, the post will live on forever, as it was screenshotted by many users. "That will give him another chip on his shoulder".

Fultz says that Embiid has texted him 75 times since his surprise visit to Philadelphia five days before the draft.

At that moment, the surrealness of the night seemed to hit Jones. The 76ers have the No. 1 overall pick; the Celtics have the third overall pick. But before you start making plans to challenge LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Eastern Conference, the 76ers still have a long way to go to get to the next level.
