Caught on Camera: GA Mom, Daughter Attacked over Cold Chicken

Video surveillance from the Qwik Chik restaurant in Baxley captured the assault around 3 p.m. Thursday, Baxley police said.

After a few minutes back and forth, Jeanette says she refunded their money, but then she says the couple went insane.

According to owner Jeanette Norris, a couple complained about their chicken being cold.

Norris went outside to tell the couple that she had called the police and that they would be there shortly, and that's when the female customer started punching and slapping Norris in the face. Norris described the female customer as allegedly going "berserk", however, and that she and her companion started beating on the windows of the restaurant.

After the female suspect stopped striking the owner, the two started to flee the scene when the owner's 15-year-old daughter exited the vehicle to help her mother.

Norris's daughter gout out of a truck to help her mother, and the male customer punched the teenager in the face.

"One of my employees yelled, 'He's got her, he's got her, '" Norris says. After a flurry of about 8 or 9 punches, she storms off. He's got her.' And that's when I realized he had hit her.

Norris suffered a broken nose in the incident.

And her daughter got a black eye.

When two other customers arrived, the couple drove off in a silver-colored Cadillac Escalade.

Police told the station that the attack was completely unprovoked. 'That's just pure brutality, ' he said.

Based on that, police are looking for Nathaniel Eric Smith and Latasha M. Smith.

There are active warrants of aggravated battery and cruelty to children out on the couple. Police say the video's timestamp indicating 2010 is inaccurate. 'Between Facebook, social media, and you guys at WTOC, it has been fantastic the response we have gotten from people'.
