Ballabgarh Murder: CPI (M) demands identification of political connections of criminals

They were allegedly called unpatriotic and anti-national and were accused of carrying beef.

Junaid who succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalised is Hasib's brother.

In a horrifying incident, a 16-year-old Muslim boy was stabbed to death and his brothers grievously injured on a train in Haryana for apparently no reason. We have already arrested one of the accused.

He also said they pulled the chain to stop the train.

Earlier reports had said this incident was based on suspicions of beef, saying a mob was forcing the men to open their bags which contained meat of some variety.

The incident took place on Thursday night. What began with the taunting ended in the brutal murder of Junaid."First they slapped us, then abused us, and then between Ballabhgarh and Asaoti stations, they stabbed us", said Shaqir.

A case has been registered against the stabbers at Government Railway Police station, Faridabad, under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by risky weapons or means), 302 (murder), and 34 (common intention). "They have assured that action as per law will be taken in the case and we are hopeful that we will get justice", he told reporters in Ballabgarh. He has confessed to having stabbed Junaid and his brothers.

"I was the eldest at 20 years of age, rest all were younger ones", he said. All the initial attackers were carrying big knives.

"Junaid tried to help him, but he too was stabbed". In the meantime, both my brothers Sakir and Junaid fell down. Police are questioning the six men in order to identify the others involved. Some of them even encouraged the men to attack us. "The injured were rushed to the hospital where one person died", a Delhi Police official told Hindustan Times.

Mohsin, another victim said, they were traveling back to their village in Haryana after shopping in Delhi for Eid when they were attacked in the train. "From the accused we have recovered a few things that indicate his presence on the train and his involvement in the attack", Government Railway Police superintendent Kamaleeep Goyal said.

A CPI (M) delegation led by Brinda Karat and Mohammad Salim visited them on Saturday evening and said they would seek compensation for Junaid's family as well as free treatment for his brothers.
