OnePlus seeks 1 year's delay to impose customs duty on imported smartphones

During the disassembly process of the OnePlus 5, the firm discovered that the smartphone's internal structure has a systematic sealing design which is similar to how other smartphone makers such as Apple, Samsung, OPPO, and Vivo apply to their devices. However, OnePlus 5 will officially be on sale in India on June 27 in India on Amazon India and the OnePlus online store. Now, people at MyFixGuide report that the similarities between the other flagship smartphones and the OnePlus 5 don't end just at the surface level but go beneath.

To say the back of the OnePlus 5 looks like an iPhone 7 Plus would be an understatement.

Rumors are rife that Apple has redesigned the nex-gen iPhone's display of and it will likely feature a 5.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display.

The OnePlus 5 is powered by ab octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The iPhone 7 on the other hand has an Apple-built A10 Fusion chipset that runs at 2.34GHz capacity and has only 2GB of RAM.

The OnePlus 5 handset has vastly improved on the camera when compared to the OnePlus 3T. It's a well-known fact that iPhones generally have relatively small RAM and still manage to be some of the best devices in the game.

If we talk numbers, the new Bluetooth version doubles the connection speed and quadruples the range to cover almost around 2oo meters in the direct line of sight.

However, OnePlus may find itself in isolation in this case for two reasons. A number of offers are bundled in including an accidental insurance coverage, some partner benefits from Amazon Prime, Kindle and Vodafone as well as a cashback for SBI credit card and debit card users, the minute details of which can be accessed while buying the OnePlus 5. Both devices feature the company's proprietary Dash Charging technology.

Enabled with the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 platform, the device is coupled with up to 8 GB of RAM that provides a smooth user experience at a lower power consumption rate.

Meanwhile, Forbes noted that the OnePlus 5 only has a slight improvement from OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T. On the connectivity side, the smartphone supports 34 global network bands and, therefore, could be used across the globe. The device boasts a dual rear-facing camera, with a wide angle 16-megapixel shooter and a 20-megapixel telephoto snapper. While moving to a dual camera setup seemed like an excellent solution, it appears that not everything is quite rosy when it comes to real world use. The fingerprint scanner is just as good, reliably unlocking the device nearly instantly, while the optional capacitive back and overview buttons work well and can be swapped over.

It is fuelled by a 3300mAh battery.

While OnePlus hasn't confirmed anything at this point in time, it's believed that it's going to follow up the OnePlus 5 with the OnPlus OnePlus 5T in November this year.

The OnePlus 5 will likely be cheaper than the iPhone 8 and customers who do not wish to stretch their budget would prefer the former.
