Immediately after Lonzo was selected with the No. 2 pick of the 2017 National Basketball Association draft, LaVar said on ESPN: "Lonzo Ball is going to take the Lakers to the playoffs in his first year".
CONCERNS: He is considered a longer-range project that some of the American point guards in the draft, in part because of the level of competition he has played against and questions about his offensive game.
Markelle Fultz will be a better player in the National Basketball Association than Lonzo Ball because of his ability to do things needed to thrive at the next level.
"That was said about me in college, said about me in high school", he said.
Although the Lakers have been his family's team since before he could walk, Ball said he hasn't been to many games in person: "My dad didn't like the seats, because I guess they were too small for him". LB: (laughs) I mean, I'll give them to him for free. "He's going to do what he does and we're going to do what we do and we're going to get after it here".
"I think LaVar is going to be LaVar", Pelinka said. And Lonzo revealed what he would say to LeBron to try and get him to come to L.A. I agree that all of those players will be off the board by the time the Magic pick at No. 6. If not, expect the Knicks to select global prospect Frank Ntilikina, who has made it known that he would like to play for Dallas, which picks at No. 9. "The great ones all have it, and we hope that by the way he plays, everyone else on our team becomes better".
