Lanning says Australian focus is on ICC Women's World Cup

The World Cup will consist of one group of eight teams with New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka also participating.

England won the World Cup on the two previous occasions they staged the tournament, triumphing in the inaugural 1973 edition and again in 1993, as well as lifting the trophy in Sydney in 2009.

"The ICC Women's World Cup also gives us all a great opportunity to excite and inspire girls to have a lifelong association with the game". There is bound to be nerve. "The day we pull it off in both departments, that is when we can upset any team", she concluded.

The 2005 runners-up might have directly qualified for the World Cup 2017 had they played their three games against Pakistan in the ICC Women's Championship and not forfeited the six points.

"How we deal with those, and use the pressure to our advantage". You want to play in front of people watching you, you want that pressure, and you want to perform under pressure.

Lauren Winfield will miss Saturday's opening match against India at Derby because of a wrist complaint. Meanwhile, India would be hoping for a good performance from their largely young team.

They face India at Derby and captain Heather Knight says the players have sworn off Twitter to shut out distractions.

Pakistan Women defeated West Indies Women by 5 wickets in their first warm-up match, but lost to Australia Women by 8 wickets in their second warm-up game on Thursday.

Asked by a reporter who her favourite men's cricketer was out of the India and Pakistan teams at a pre-World Cup dinner in London on Thursday, the experienced batsman replied: "Do you ask the same question to a male cricketer?"

"We have not really spoken about that as a squad to be honest, we are pretty focussed on playing good cricket and I am very happy to leave it to the CA and the ACA to negotiate terms that everyone is happened with", the 25-year-old said.
