Penguins' Nick Bonino Played Through Broken Leg In Stanley Cup Final

Country music star Luke Bryan opened NBC's Game 6 broadcast of the Stanley Cup Final at 8 p.m. ET with a special performance from the rooftop of Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge in Nashville, Tenn., and joined McHugh, Milbury, and Jones during first intermission coverage.

He is the third person to achieve the feat and first since Mario Lemieux, the former Penguins great and now team owner, in 1991-92.

"You have a small window to play and to have a career, and I feel fortunate, but I also understand how hard it is, so you just want to try to make the best of it", Crosby said. Penguins goalie Matt Murray stopped 27 shots to register back-to-back shutouts following a 24-save outing in a 6-0 win in Game 5.

Penguins closed the matchup with the Nashville Predators with 4-2 in series, and that was enough for them to become the champions for the second year in a row. "We're going to celebrate in Pittsburgh in a few days". Veteran Matt Cullen will most likely retire as well.

This year's win might have been harder than a year ago.

"I'm so honored to be a part of this team and this group of guys", Murray said.

Congrats to Pittsburgh on a well-deserved championship.

Mike Sullivan has been the head coach for the Penguins for two seasons and has posted a playoff record of 32-17 in the process.

Like in the past season, the series was finished after the sixth game, but we have to add that the encounter at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville was exciting and thrilling up to its end.

The loss ended the upstart Predators' deepest playoff run in their 19-year history and one that became the talk of the town - and the league - with all their country stars, catfish tossing and aggressive play on the ice. Nashville made the playoffs as the 16th-best team in the regular season before knocking off Chicago, St. Louis and Anaheim.

Well, as Penguins fans filled the streets on the South Side, some chose to celebrate by eating catfish - raw. "Please give us the time to get the specifics together, and we will let you know when as soon as the details are available".
