Blazers trade first-round picks with the Kings

The Portland Trail Blazers have traded the 15th and 20th picks in the 2017 NBA Draft to the Sacramento Kings for the right to select Gonzaga Bulldogs center Zach Collins with the 10th overall pick.

Sam Amick of USA Today reported Thursday that the Kings are willing to give up their No. 10 pick.

Collins was GU's first ever one and done and while he did not start a single this season with the Zags, he averaged 10 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game, and 1.8 blocks.

Collins played one year on Gonzaga as a back-up center.

Jackson, who was named ACC Player of the Year and UNC MVP, averaged 18.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last year. He also shot 47.6 percent from three, though that's a small sample size, making 10 of 21 attempts from deep.

"I don't see why I can't be the Rookie of the Year", Collins said.

The NBA's youngest roster dipped 11 games below.500 with a 120-113 overtime loss at Detroit on February 28. It's not a bad deal if Sacramento nails either No 15 or No. 20 in a few minutes.

The Blazers' winningest starting lineup included Lillard, McCollum, Nurkic and forwards Noah Vonleh and Maurice Harkless.

The Blazers on the other hand didn't want all of their picks. "They are going to bring a lot of grit, a lot of toughness".
