FILE - In this November 20, 2016, file photo, UCLA's Lonzo Ball (2) walks by his father LaVar Ball, right, to greet family members after UCLA defeated Long Beach State in an NCAA college basketball game in Los Angeles.
The intrigue, then, starts with the No. 3 pick in the National Basketball Association draft Thursday.
It made Tatum not the compromise, but the best fit for a team that's still in position be a big player in free agency this summer. "I can't wait to go and learn from coach (Brad) Stevens and Isaiah Thomas and just everybody on that roster".
"We're going to try to make the right decisions to finish this project", Colangelo said.
Fultz is versatile and can play both on or off the ball thanks to his size and defensive upside.
Because once he's the No. 1 overall pick and an National Basketball Association star, he'll have to get used to newspaper columnists (and everyone else) having silly opinions about him.
"Pay attention to my footwear", the Washington guard said. High school, I think I lost like four games in two years.
LOVING LONZO - AND LAVAR: Ball acknowledged that there might be a "target" on him entering the draft because of all his father's comments.
Ball gives the Lake Show a guy who can be a Showtime-esque playmaker, and the floor should be his from the jump considering that the Lakers traded away D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. "They said they love my dad and left it at that".
"We need Ben at point guard", Brown said of Simmons towards the end of last season. "We're going to get ours tomorrow".
The first seven picks of the draft entered as college freshman and 18-year-old Frenchman Frank Ntilikina was taken by the New York Knicks with the eighth choice. Of the 20 players expected to be in the green room, 13 were college one-and-dones. On this tracker, each team has its own page done in alphabetical order, complete with what draft picks they have, what some projectors say will happen, a draft outlook, and along the way, draft pick analysis and grades. The Huskies had a pair of first-round picks in 2016: Marquese Chriss (No. 8 to Phoenix via Sacramento) and Dejounte Murray (No. 29 to San Antonio). Washington's Markelle Fultz, wearing basketball-themed shoes, poses for photos on the red carpet before the start of the NBA basketball draft, Thursday, June 22, 2017, in NY. NY did not end up trading Kristaps Porzingis after rumored deals.
"I try not to think about it too much", Markkanen said. "I just realized that I was doing stuff that other kids weren't doing and it just started to work out for me".
