Xbox One X Enhanced Games: Here's What It Means

The system, which runs games at 60fps (frames per second), is "the most powerful console ever made", Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, told the BBC.

The Xbox One X also has a superior optical drive, as the new unit comes equipped with a 4K/HDR capable Blu-ray drive, compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro which comes with an older Blu-ray/DVD drive.

Xbox One X has 6 teraflops of computing power - 40 percent more power than any other console, according to Microsoft - and 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM. As with Forza Horizon 3, it'll support Xbox Play Anywhere so PC gamers aren't left out, and naturally, that version will also support 4K gaming.

"If you start on the Xbox One S and then later decide that you want to go to the Xbox One X, all of those games are going to play better on your new console and they stay with you". Ybarra confirmed that the UI will be the same although he hinted that a new update for UI is being planned so it is possible that the update might change the UI before Xbox One X launches in November.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Spencer was asked whether he is anxious about the Xbox One X costing $100 (£78) more than the PS4 Pro.

Bye Project Scorpio, hello to the new Xbox One X.

At around £100 more than the PS4 Pro, some feel the price of the Xbox One X is too high, but this price will still not make a profit for Microsoft.

It's impossible to say whether Microsoft will be making a loss on the Xbox One X, or merely breaking even, but we do know for sure that they'll be relying on selling lots of games to turn this into a profitable venture. He said that there won't be any games made exclusively for the Xbox One X.

"Not just more powerful hardware so we can get visual fidelity up, but also audio and how the game feels - the physical fidelity".

Talking to CNET, Spencer said that despite the lack of VR presence onstage at Microsoft's E3 conference on Sunday, their new console will support the new technology.
