Spanish Prosecutors Accuse Mourinho of 3.3m Euros Tax Fraud

Cristiano Ronaldo has been persuaded by his lawyers to pay the £12.9million he is accused of defrauding the Spanish tax authorities, according to reports in Madrid.

Speculation is ripe that Ronaldo wants Madrid to bear some of the burden of the fine and was trying to put pressure on the club.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Monday rubbished media reports which said that the record German football champions are interested in signing Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is now on global duty with Portugal at the Confederations Cup, but, according to the report, has told his teammates that Perez's words were "better late than never" and have conveniently led to him having a change of heart.

"I have not spoken with him".

"All I can say is that Cristiano Ronaldo has a contract with Madrid". Life brings you unexpected situations, but you have to face them and find a solution.

Perez said: "This is all very odd".

But the Portugal worldwide was not a realistic target at that point, having signed a new five-year Real Madrid contract last November.

Ronaldo is now facing four charges against the Spanish public treasury dated between 2011 and 2014, including a case of tax fraud worth Dollars 65.5 million.

Perez insisted: 'There's been no offer for him and we're thinking that Ronaldo is a Real Madrid player and will continue being one, despite all the other things.

"The Spanish government. through the tax department, issued a certificate in which it attested that he had regularized his position and was in compliance with all his tax obligations", Gestifute said.

The transfer market has been hit with a trigger following Ronaldo's hint that he could leave Spain if he is eventually hammered in the tax case.

Under Perez, Real Madrid have won three Champions League titles in four seasons. I will talk with him when the Confederations Cup has finished. We have complete faith that Cristiano has always acted out of good faith because we know what he is like.
