Recall issued for hummus sold at Walmart

House of Thaller is voluntarily recalling select packages of hummus.

Brands of hummus sold at popular grocery stores and retailers, including Walmart, Giant Eagle and Stop & Shop, are being recalled for possible listeria.

Multiple brands of hummus sold at Walmart and other stores have been recalled because of potential contamination.

The hummus products came in 10 ounce, clear, round plastic cups with a clear or colored plastic lids.

No illnesses have been reported in connection to the recalled hummus products, or a variety of other products including granola, protein bars and trail mix with organic dates distributed by other companies who used foods sourced from Hudson Valley Farms (HVF).

The organism especially unsafe for young children, older people and those with a weakened immune system.

Consumers can check the lot code on their product to see if it is included in the recall. Those symptoms can include high fever, stiff neck, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Customers can contact the House of Thaller Customer Service Center from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.to 8 p.m., at 855-215-5142. Listeria infection in pregnant women could cause stillbirth or miscarriage.
