McCain Has a Suggestion for Americans Wanting to Travel to North Korea

Hamilton County 's Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco's office released a statement saying Otto Warmbier's family objected to an autopsy so only an external exam of his body was done.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said in an interview with "CBS This Morning" that North Korea must bear "heavy responsibility" for Warmbier's death.

"No conclusions about the cause and manner of Mr. Warmbier's death have been drawn at this time as there are additional medical records and imaging to review and people to interview", Sammarco said in a written statement Tuesday.

The US student held in captivity for more than 15 months in North Korea has died a week after returning home. Like student Otto Warmbier, he visited North Korea with a tour group and was taken into custody at the airport when trying to leave.

The family of American college student Otto Warmbier objected to an autopsy, leaving the former North Korea detainee's official cause of death a mystery for the time being.

At the time of Warmbier's release, a White House official said Joseph Yun, the US envoy on North Korea, had met with North Korean foreign ministry representatives in Norway the previous month.

Suffering from severe brain damage, he died Monday in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, surrounded by family who decried his "awful torturous mistreatment" at the hands of Pyongyang, while taking solace in the fact he made it home before he died.

Trump said this week that "the results would have been different" had Warmbier been released and brought home sooner, but he did not provide any specific details. South Korea's Defence Ministry said the bombers engaged in routine exercises with its fighter jets aimed at deterring the North. Americans comprise about a fifth of all non-Chinese tourists to North Korea, tour operators say.

North Korea has had five nuclear test so far and US military options are prepared if there's a sixth.

"While I greatly appreciate the efforts of President Xi & China to help with North Korea, it has not worked out", he tweeted.

"We can make speculations that there were many unjust and cruel treatments to Mr. Warmbier", he said.

Top U.S. and Chinese diplomats and defense chiefs are meeting in the U.S. capital for security talks, and North Korea will get "top billing", according to Susan Thornton, the senior U.S. diplomat for East Asia.

The United States will do its best to help South Korea win the release of its citizens detained in North Korea, the acting U.S. ambassador to Seoul said Wednesday in a meeting with the host country's new foreign minister.

When asked whether the Trump administration plans to retaliate against North Korea, Spicer said,"We have been very forceful in our political and economic pressure that has been applied in North Korea.

It's a total disgrace what happened to Otto", Trump said during an event in the Oval Office.

That said, Trump did acknowledge that China at least tried.
