Michigan Cop Stabbed In Neck At Flint Airport

Police confirmed to WOOD TV8's NBC affiliate WEYI that an airport police officer, identified as Lt. Jeff Neville, was stabbed at the airport Wednesday morning.

An unknown assailant stabbed an off-duty police officer in the neck area at the Bishop Airport in Flint, Michigan on Wednesday, according to various reports.

Police posted on Twitter that the airport will remain closed until further notice.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver enhanced security around city hall in the wake of the Bishop International Airport stabbing.

She and another witness say they saw the airport officer bleeding from his neck.

Carpenter described the man in custody as appearing "blank, just totally blank".

The FBI is leading the investigation into the attack.

"The cop was on his hands and knees bleeding from his neck", Ken Brown, who was dropping his daughter off at the airport for a flight, told the news outlet.

Airport and police officials didn't immediately respond to messages from The Associated Press seeking comment.

According to CBS contributor WNEM-TV, all passengers are safe and the terminal is being evacuated. That witness also said that he saw a man being detained by police.
