Manchester Utd manager Jose Mourinho accused of €3.3mn tax fraud

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus, who are now trying to somehow stop Dani Alves from forcing a move to Manchester City, have enquired to Manchester United about the availability of Matteo Darmian.

Manchester United have already completed the signing of a center-defender Victor Lindelof and an addition of the 28-year old will be a great boost for the club defensively. That same report reveals a prosecutor said he did not declare income from the use of his lucrative image rights in order to get an "illicit benefit". "To this date, neither the Spanish tax authorities, nor the public prosecutor have contacted Jose Mourinho or his advisers who were hired for the inspection process", read a statement from his representatives.

Ronaldo's willingness to leave Real Madrid and Spain has been partially blamed on his being chased by the tax man.

He will appear in court at the end of July to defend himself, although there is no formal charge at this stage.

Mourinho, 54, was in charge at Real between 2010 and 2013, winning one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey and one Supercopa.

In addition, they say he only declared 11.5 million euros of Spanish-related income from 2011 to 2014, while what he really earned during that time was close to 43 million euros.

The state prosecutor based the accusations on information provided by Spain's Tax Office, which indicates that Mourinho used shell companies in the Virgin Islands and Ireland to "hide profits made from image rights".

Spanish media claimed the Real Madrid star must be in the courtroom in Pozuelo at 11am local time for the beginning of the case.

Cristiano Ronaldo has also denied defrauding Spanish authorities out of €15million between 2011 and 2014.

In Spain, sentences of under two years are normally suspended.
