'Game Of Thrones' star Oona Chaplin cast in 'Avatar' sequels

Lightstorm president Jon Landau made the announcement during Fox's CineEurope presentation on Tuesday in Barcelona, Spain.

Avatar, an epic science fiction film had broken all box-office records upon its release in 2009, with special praise directed towards Cameron for utilising the latest technology to infuse the film with the best special effects. "That's what Jim [James Cameron] has been working on for the last several years..."

For moviegoers, a stellar script should translate into compelling characters - something Landau feels confident the sequels possess.

The plot of the four "Avatar" sequels is being kept under lock and key.

"At the heart of any movie are the characters". There's no more relatable theme than family. She will also be part of the franchise for a while since Varang is supposedly part of the entire saga of the Avatar sequels. "However, when looked at as a whole, the journey across all four movies will create an even larger connected epic saga for audiences around the world".

The 62-year-old filmmaker announced earlier this year that the "concurrent production on four sequels" had begun and the first movie will be released in 2020, followed by the other three in 2021, 2024 and 2025. According to TheWrap, Game of Thrones actress Oona Chaplin has joined the sci-fi franchise.
