Corey Stoll to play Buzz Aldrin in Neil Armstrong biopic

First Man will be produced by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner, alongside Chazelle and Gosling.

It looks like Ryan Gosling won't be going to the moon alone in First Man, La La Land director Damien Chazelle's upcoming movie about Neil Armstrong. Corey Stoll, of The Strain and Ant Man will portray astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man on the moon. Slayton was a pilot in WWII who later became an aeronautical engineer and was one of NASA's original Mercury Seven astronauts, and he also had very cool name.

Written by Academy Award victor Josh Singer (Spotlight), the First Man movie will be produced by Wyck Godfrey & Marty Bowen (The Twilight Saga, The Fault in Our Stars) through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner, alongside Chazelle and Gosling. Isaac Klausner will executive producer while DreamWorks Pictures will co-finance the film.

It will explore the story of NASA's mission to land a man on the moon between the years of 1961 and 1969, and of course the legendary Apollo 11 mission, where Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon.

First Man is scheduled to hit US theatres in October, 2018.

Does First Man sound like a film you'll want to check out in theaters? I hope they cast someone like Brad Pitt as Michael Collins though.
