Arsenal In Crisis: Oxlade-Chamberlain Joins Alexis In Wanting Out

Chelsea were first linked with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain way back in 2010-11, when the teenager was having his breakout season with then third division Southampton.

The England worldwide had a very positive end to the season and looked like a new player after being deployed as a right-wing-back once Wenger shifted to a three-at-the-back system, and this will have undoubtedly raised his stock as it seemed as though he was struggling to fit in previously.

Chelsea are the latest Premier League side to express an interest in the signature of Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, The Daily Mirror reports.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of Jurgen Klopp's widely reported targets ahead of the 2017/18 campaign, with concrete reports emerging in April.

Arsenal are said to have "yet to formally offer him a new deal", with this uncertainty causing Oxlade-Chamberlain to consider his options. Don't rule a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain out, though. If would be a hit for the Emirates club who signed Oxlade-Chamberlain from Sunderland in 2011, but a big gain in the depth department for Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

Sky Sports believe that the Premier League champions will face competition from Premier League counterparts Manchester City and Liverpool in the race to sign the England worldwide - but Antonio Conte appears keen to draft him into his squad this summer. If they do, the talented youngster is likely to want assurances over playing time as he looks to stamp his mark on the global scene with a World Cup coming next summer.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain has grown increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress and is now on holiday considering his next move. The winger's current deal sees him make £3.38m a season.
