Last season, under the management of Antonio Conte, Diego Costa was leading striker for Chelsea and he was absolutely brilliant in the title winning campaign.
Former Chelsea attacker Joe Cole says that Everton forward Romelu Lukaku would be the ideal player to replace Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, the Blues have been strongly linked with a huge-money move for Lukaku - whom they sold to Everton for £28million.
'Obviously the Costa thing has come out.
According to Cole. the Premier League champions should take very seriously a knowledge of the league into consideration when shopping for a Costa replacement.
Ronald Koeman struck a deal with him in 2016 as Chelsea and Juventus circled, that Lukaku would stay for a season longer. Lukaku's 25 goals last season showcased his continued improvement, but his hold-up play must improve if he is going to reach the next level with Chelsea.
'I don't know his character so it is hard to say [whether returning to Stamford Bridge would affect him], but I would say is that the pressure is different when you play for Chelsea, rather than Everton.
Everton are ready to smash their £30 million transfer record to land Moussa Dembele as a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
Morata scored more goals and provided a higher amount of assists per game, suggesting that the Spaniard is the more clinical option, but Lukaku created more chances and completed a greater proportion of his attempted take-ons.
