Real president Perez 'not contemplating' Ronaldo departure

Enraged by Spanish tax authorities and a perceived lack of support from Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo is threatening to leave the European champions, but is it genuine or part of a greater ploy?

Both players are often compared and contrasted as football fans and media debate who is the world's best footballer.

Madrid are unlikely to commit to selling the Spain worldwide while there remains a possibility that Ronaldo could leave. I haven't spoken to him.

"Jose Mourinho coached Ronaldo at Real Madrid from 2010 through 2013, and reports suggested the two could be reunited at Manchester United this summer in what has been described as a "£183 million mega deal".

Perez, though, has insisted that the club are "relaxed" about the situation and have no intention of letting Ronaldo go.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for the Portuguese forward, while Bayern Munich denied interest on Monday.

Ronaldo has helped Real win the Champions League thrice, scoring twice in last month's final as they became the first club to retain the title, and he is also the competition's record goal scorer with 105 strikes.

"People say things about me without knowing a thing and it bothers me".

Unhappy Ronaldo, the four-time world player of the year, has left his future at the Spanish giants in doubt and has been linked to United and other top clubs after angrily announcing last week that his "conscience is clear".

And according to Spanish sports daily Marca, Ronaldo has told his teammates: "I'm leaving Real".

"We weren't on the edge of signing him, because of his age".

"It's no coincidence that he's in a very important tournament, the Confederations Cup". I have a good relationship and a good friendship with Cristiano and I want to talk to him.

"No one has made us a single offer; not for Cristiano Ronaldo, not for Alvaro Morata, not for James Rodriguez".

However, Perez said that he had not spoken to Ronaldo, who is on duty for Portugal at the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation, which ends on July 2.

"The tax issue I do not know well".

He tweeted: "Man Utd are still in talks with Real Madrid for Morata".

"We understand he has acted in accordance with the legality regarding the fulfilment of his fiscal obligations", Real said in a statement.
