Ronaldo's situation has been a relentless source of speculation in recent days after it was claimed over the weekend that the 32-year-old is keen to quit Real Madrid after being accused of tax fraud by Spanish authorities.
Spanish radio station Onda Cero say Perez was to "give his version of the 'Ronaldo case"' in an interview with them late last night, while an event marking his re-election was scheduled to be held at 7:30pm at the Bernabeu's presidential box. "This is all very unusual, I will have to speak with him to see what's going on", he added.
The club added that the official announcement of Perez as president of Real Madrid will take place in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.
His appearance at the hearing on July 31 has the potential to play a huge role in whether Ronaldo leaves or remains with Real Madrid.
"The clause for Cristiano is £1bn".
Insisting that everyone must comply with their tax obligations, the Madrid president remained hopeful that Ronaldo would will meet his tax requirements and that all the confusion would be cleared up soon.
Ronaldo has helped Real win the UEFA Champions League thrice, scoring twice in last month's final. He has won three Champions Leagues, two La Liga titles and two King's Cups in his eight years in the Spanish capital. Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano, among others, have already been convicted.
"I've not spoken with Nasser (Al-Khelaifi, PSG president) or with anybody", Perez said. While their relationship did not end on the best terms, Mourinho would surely know how to maximize Ronaldo's talents once again.
