Lonzo Ball's draft stock stays strong with Lakers watching

With Lonzo Ball or Josh Jackson a lock with the 2nd pick, we hope the Lakers can make a Larry Nance kind of selection and pull out a major contributor off the mid-low first round, something Buss and Kupchak proved to be really good at in the past.

It has seemed as if the Lakers have been trying to move away from the inevitable Lonzo Ball for a while now. If the Pacers are in a hurry to offload George entering the NBA Draft week, LA could quickly become an active trade partner considering the young players on the roster and draft picks LA holds.

The Lakers have been linked with Ball for some time, and his outspoken father, LaVar Ball, had made it known he wants his son to wear the Purple and Gold.

"The two top guys still remain Fultz and Ball, very mature young players who are going to have an impact I think", said Fraschilla".

But in the event the Suns land a star at No. 4 and use No. 32 for a draft-and-stash guy, adding a little wing depth in a draft offering plenty of 3-and-D prospects is never a bad idea.

Boston is expected to take Markelle Fultz as No. 1 overall pick but there is a strong possibility that they may take Jackson, who cancelled a workout with the Celtics this week.

With the NBA's "one and done" rule, there are so many players in the draft who spent only one year in college and many young global athletes 18-19 years old.

This, and probably more, will all unfold on draft night.

The purple and gold team don't have a 2018 NBA Draft first-round selectrion, as it's owed to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a recent trade.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see what the Nets do.

The talent and game changing players in the draft isn't the only thing to look out for.
