Kevin Durant to decline player option, re-sign with Warriors

Exercising the 2017-18 option would guarantee him almost $28 million in salary, $10 million more than his next highest-paid teammate, Klay Thompson. Golden State's star is opting out but will be signing a team-friendly deal.


It took him just a season to add an National Basketball Association title to his thick resume, with the Warriors losing just a single game in the entire playoffs. He especially was strong in the NBA Finals, averaging 35.2 points per game and garnering series MVP honors.
