Former Barca Star: Real Madrid Target Is Not Worth £120m

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has talked up the possibility of the club signing AS Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Real Madrid and Arsenal have been two of the sides at the forefrount of the battle to sign the teenager, but Emery has admitted that he wants the player to move to the French capital.

"I respect Monaco but I think he will be better off in Paris because his family is here".

While Donnarumma stunned AC Milan by turning down a new contract last week, with his agent Mino Raiola since claiming the 18-year-old is ready for the step up to Real Madrid. The Frenchman, who scored 26 goals for Monaco this past season, has made it clear his next destination will be based on his sporting ambitions rather than the remuneration on offer.

"Real Madrid is the meeting place for many and if these players want to come, then that's excellent".

Despite Real Madrid being the favourites and the fact Arsenal can't offer Champions League football, The Sun says Wenger is increasingly confident he'll be able to persuade the French worldwide to come to north London.

'Mbappe is a good player, but his price is not £120 million.

But Petit, who played for Monaco between 1988 and 1997, emphasised the relatively short time the exciting youngster has been playing first-team football and suggested a move could be detrimental to his development.

"I won't go anywhere where I have been told to go".

He added: "I am sure he will be one of the greats and we are following him". The Cristiano Ronaldo situation though complicates matters.

"The PSG president is a friend of mine but he's not sent me an offer [for Ronaldo]", he continued.

"It surprises me when I read the opposite in the press".
