"Zidane liked him a lot", Perez told Onda Cero.
"As no other candidature was put forward to the board ... it is proclaimed that Mr Florentino Pérez Rodríguez is president of Real Madrid", the club said in a statement.
"I have not spoken to him".
The Spain global nearly joined Madrid in 2015 until the blockbuster transfer collapsed and he continues to be linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu, but Perez insisted the capital club are happy with Navas.
Man United were instantly linked to the 32-year-old, with Ronaldo having enjoyed a successful six years at Old Trafford, before leaving for the La Liga giants in a world record breaking transfer fee in 2009. "Obviously, something has happened, something has affected him, his credibility".
Perez has not attempted to contact the star player as Ronaldo is on global duty.
"I haven't learned very much about the situation, he's at a very important tournament at the moment in the Confederations Cup and until that ends I'm not going to disturb the atmosphere of his team", added Perez.
"Not I nor anyone at Madrid is contemplating that Cristiano could leave the club". This is very unusual and in the next few days, I'll talk to him.
Free-spending Paris St Germain have also been linked with a player that Perez insists there have been no bids for, nor he says has there been any offers for Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez.
A move for De Gea, for now it seems, is off the table though.
Ronaldo, a player United are naturally interested in, has a prohibitively high one billion euros (£880million) buyout clause in the new and improved deal he signed in November which ties him to the Bernabeu until 2021.
