Erendira Wallenda Dangles by Teeth Above Niagara Falls in Daredevil Stunt

Despite what seems like a gamble with death, Wallenda told reporters ahead of the stunt that she was "not going to be freaked out", The Buffalo News reported.

The aerialist performed a series of maneuvers Thursday morning including hanging from her teeth, toes and knees all while on a hoop suspended from the helicopter.

Wallenda, 36, performed her feat five years after her stuntman husband, Nik Wallenda, walked 550 metres on a tightrope from the American side of the falls to the Canadian side. His stunt was also televised.

Erendira Wallenda, the wife of famed daredevil Nik Wallenda, has broken her husband's record, dangling 300 ft. above Niagara Falls by her teeth.

The previous record of 250 feet was held by her husband, which he set six years ago, dangling over a Missouri theme park.

Erendira Wallenda just showed the world her iron jaw.

Wallenda said she hoped her performance would inspire others - and she offered a special message for other females.

I don't know about you, but there is no amount of money I'd do that for.

The $120,000 stunt was jointly sponsored by the city of Niagara Falls, the Niagara County Legislature and the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino. Now, his wife, Erendira, has her own record at the waterfalls.

"I have talked about it with Nik in private conversations twice now, and I do believe they have something at least in their heads that they would like to come to fruition", said Niagara Falls City Councilman Kenny Tompkins.

"Something extremely unique to anywhere around the world and for the first one to be right here in Niagara Falls", he said. That's how USA Today, ABC, the Niagara Gazette and more made a decision to refer to her in either headlines or ledes. "That's incredible. That's awesome, '" he said.

Erendira described the experience as "beautiful and amazing" but said she was caught off guard by the strong winds.
