Allegiant to fly to Phoenix from MidAmerica starting in November

Airline company Allegiant announced new non-stop flights from Indianapolis to Phoenix Tuesday morning.

The low-priced carrier will begin year-round service to Orlando/Sanford on November 16 and to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda beginning on November 17.

"These new routes from CVG show that local travelers have continued to embrace Allegiant's unique brand of ultra-low-cost fares and nonstop service to destinations around the country", said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant senior vice president of commercial.

Allegiant describes itself as an airline offering industry-low fares on an all-jet fleet.

The flights will run twice weekly.

"In the end, we are delighted that Allegiant is growing at RDU", Landguth said.

"Allegiant's new nonstop flights will draw a wide range of travelers to Milwaukee and further expand our reach throughout Wisconsin and northern IL", said County Executive Chris Abele in a statement. Must be purchased by June 22, 2017 for travel by February 13, 2018.

Allegiant previously offered nonstop flights between Gulfport and Orlando beginning in 2007 and left after about a year and half, which airport officials at the time blamed on high fuel costs. It also offers other travel-related products like hotel rooms and rental cars.
