£39m attacker jets to England today; Monster LFC move imminent

Mohamed Salah is reportedly scheduled to fly to the United Kingdom today ahead of a proposed £35m switch to Liverpool.

Liverpool made their initial bid of £28 million for the player several weeks ago and then indicated they would go higher in an effort to close talks, but Roma were seeking well in excess of even £35 million at one stage as negotiations continued.

Over the past couple of days, the Egyptian media have been getting the Anfield faithful in a bit of a frenzy with claims of a trip to London in order to have his medical ahead of his return to the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's pursuit of Salah comes three years after he rejected a move to Anfield, instead opting to join Chelsea which sparked a frustrating spell.

Should the deal come to fruition, Liverpool will be adding a significant player to their squad.

An improved offer of £35 million looks to have done the trick, though, and after EgyptAir publicly thanked the 25-year-old for using their airline, last night, reports have begun gathering pace that Salah will sign for Liverpool this week, with a medical to take place either today or tomorrow.

It means the proposed £37m deal is set to break Liverpool's transfer record as it will eclipse the £35m the Merseysiders paid Newcastle for Andy Carroll back in 2011.

The winger was excellent for Roma last season as they finished second in La Liga, contributing 15 goals and 11 assists.

He said: "Liverpool's style of play suits Salah perfectly and Klopp's style suits him".
