Spider-Man Tom Holland Teased For Venom Movie

With Sony still owning the rights to the Spider-Man franchise, fans have been wondering if the upcoming film is simply a one and done, considering Marvel is essentially licensing the rights.

Despite denying it previously, Pascal recently admitted that Tom Hardy's Venom and Silver Sable And Black Cat will be connected to Spider-Man: Homecoming's world.

During the Supernova Comic Con in Sydney, director Jon Watts spoke to the crowds of fans via video chat and spoke about his time with the MCU, including where the character of Spider-Man will be going beyond his first solo outing.

Well, those movies will all take place in the world that we're now creating for Peter Parker. "They may be different locations, but it will all still be in the same world, and they will be connected to each other as well". It's worth remembering, incidentally, that Amy Pascal doesn't actually work for Sony any longer (she left shortly before the Marvel / Sony deal was announced in 2015), and so we wouldn't really expect her to be in the loop for high-level negotiations anyway.

Amy Pascal has revealed the studio's plans for the iconic superhero, seemingly confirming that Spider-Man - who is played by English actor Tom Holland - will feature in a number of spin-off movies. "I think that is what she was trying to say as opposed to putting a ticking clock [on Spider-Man]". During an interview, she appeared to imply Sony's deal with Marvel Studios will run up following the Homecoming sequel unless renegotiations were entered into.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out. If this all comes along nicely, 20th Century Fox may follow suit and finally give us an X-Men reboot that we want to see.
