David Trezeguet urges Kylian Mbappe to stay at AS Monaco

The 18-year-old is coming off of a 26-goal season for Monaco, who reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals in 2016/17, and has gained attention from several of world's biggest clubs including Real Madrid.

Arsenal and Liverpool linked striker Kylian Mbappe has informed Monaco that he only wants to join Real Madrid if he has to leave the club.

Trezeguet certainly understands what is going through Mbappe's head.

It was always going to be a long shot, with the Monaco and France worldwide striker Kylian Mbappe being one of the most sought after young players in football right now, but going by the reports in the press Arsenal were in the mix.

Mbappe is believed to be on the wishlist of nearly every major club in European football, with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal just four of the teams that have been linked with a move.

According to Madrid-based daily Marca, the young striker has made it clear to Monaco that he would only leave the club for Real Madrid and is not interested in offers from other clubs in Europe.

It is also claimed that Arsenal are facing stiff competition from Real Madrid for the signature of the 18-year-old, with the Spanish side said to have already tabled a £118m bid for Mbappe. 18 years old so he has a good opportunity at Monaco because it is a lovely city, and a world-class academy.

"But everything moves fast in football".

However, Petit has highlighted the case of Martial, who was a high-profile departure from Monaco when he joined Manchester United in 2015.

'I still think he wants to stay in Monaco and confirm his level there.
