Mueller investigating Jared Kushner's business dealings

The Russian bank, Vnesheconombank, which has been the subject of US sanctions following Russia's annexation of Crimea, has said the session was held for business reasons because of Kushner's role as head of his family's real estate company.

For example, Wired's Garrett M. Graff reported, "it appears he has recruited an experienced Justice Department trial attorney, Lisa Page, a little-known figure outside the halls of Main Justice but one whose résumé boasts intriguing hints about where Mueller's Russian Federation investigation might lead".

The top lawyer for the Trump transition team has ordered the organization's staff to preserve all records and other materials related to the widening investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian representatives.

Gorelick added, "Mr. Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters. He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry".

Kushner rarely speaks publicly about role in the White House, but he has become a major figure in the administration with a sprawling list of policy responsibilities that includes Canada and Mexico, China, and peace in the Middle East.

Trump couldn't resist referring to the probe's "Witch Hunt" a half hour later in a tweet that touted the economic recovery during his young presidency. This confirmation came after he thrice reassured Trump of his (Trump's) non-involvement in the matter.

"I would put that Rosenstein statement more in the "giving Trump enough rope" bucket than in the "succumbing to pressure" bucket", tweeted Matt Yglesias of Vox.

While President Trump denied all the allegations levied on him, Comey revealed that the documented memos were a testament to his claims, a portion of which was published by the The New York Times, with the hope of a new counsel being appointed. However, the decision was not unanimous as general counsel James A Baker voiced his disagreement. The revelation that the whole thing was a complete fabrication is cast off in one sentence, deep in the article, and then it's off to the races with your next drummed-up accusation that Trump committed obstruction of justice. Trump said, in an early morning tweet.

She said Trump has "embarked on an effort to undermine anyone with the ability to bring any misdeeds to light" and the Senate shouldn't let that happen.

Trump's reference to the Russian Federation probe as a reason for firing Comey bothers Linda Richardson, 62 - but not enough to second-guess his decision. Baker himself has declined to make any comments.

A clear majority of Americans believe President Donald Trump has tried to interfere with the investigation into whether Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election and possible Trump campaign collusion, a new poll shows.

Trump has told associates he has the legal authority to fire Mueller. Kushner is President Donald Trump's son-in-law.

Comey testified last week that he also felt pressured to drop the Flynn probe. The Post said investigators had requested interviews with CIA Director Dan Coats, National Security Agency chief Michael Rogers and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director. Coats told associates that Trump asked him whether he could intervene with Comey to get the Federal Bureau of Investigation to back off its focus on Flynn, the officials said.
