Humid Weekend, Few Showers Possible

We have an upper level high to our west, that is keeping the rain chances low by bringing in cooler air aloft and causing a sinking motion. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Meteorologists Thursday said the heavy rains could produce 0.01 to 0.10 inches of rainfall.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Up to a half-inch of rain is possible.

Afternoon highs are forecast to climb into the lower and middle 90s for Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, and possibly on Friday, too. There is a slight chance for a stray thunderstorm on Saturday, which will mainly be confined to Eastern Kentucky. The humidity will be lower by Tuesday, and the chance for rain or t-storms will continue off-and-on through the rest of the week.

Here's the weekend forecast from the National Weather Service. It will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-70s.

It'll be mild and humid overnight with lows in the low and mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies.

Wednesday - A chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday night: A 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m., low around 62. Northwest winds 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 104. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. The best chances will come in the afternoon and early evening. Afternoon showers/storms posssible. Highs in mid to upper 80s. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely.

Monday Night: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.

A batch of heavy thunderstorms develops late Saturday night about 800 miles northwest of the Tennessee Valley. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Monday: A chance for showers and storms.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102.
