According to Fox News, the handwritten list was found in a van belonging to James Hodgkinson by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the lawmakers named on the list are known to be conservative members associated with the Freedom Caucus.
Still in critical condition and undergoing repeated surgery, GOP House Whip Steve Scalise "will be in the hospital for some time", according to the facility where he is recovering from a gunshot.
It was not clear if Hodgkinson had planned the attack, or for how long.
Handwritten on notepad paper, the list of names included Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, anonymous sources told the Daily Caller. "I have never said 'life sucks, ' only the policies of the Republicans", he wrote in another.
James Hodgkinson, 66, from Belleville, Illinois, was shot dead by police after opening fire in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday.
While agreeing Richmond about the noxious tone of the national discourse, several of Richmond's counterparts said they see occasional threats as an unfortunate but largely unavoidable part of their jobs as representatives of the people, positions that require them to be available to local citizens and travel regularly back to their home districts.
"Anytime anything happens with a gun, the left and anti-Second Amendment people are going to scream about gun control", said U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, a freshman Republican from Port Barre.
A reporter wanted to know if there was anything she wanted to say to the victims.
Hodgkinson was a Democrat and supporter of the presidential campaign of Sen.
President Donald Trump said Friday that Steve Scalise "took a bullet for all of us".
Hodgkinson was injured in a shootout with police and later died of his injuries, according to officials.
Even more incredible, Rep. Brooks was standing not far from the 3 base line awaiting his turn at bat as the shooter started his attack only a few yards away, in the 3 base dugout.
In fact, a number of conservative Republican lawmakers have said in recent days that Wednesday's shooting might help grow a push in the opposite direction.
Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said on "The Story" that this awful incident is a sign that our political rhetoric has gotten far too extreme, and that it can "set off psychopaths" like Hodgkinson.
Pelosi pointed out that she herself has faced verbal attacks and threats aplenty, including phone calls to her home she blamed on ads critical of her that are airing now in a Georgia House district where a hard-fought special election will take place next week. Among other things, Hodgkinson said Trump had screwed up the country "more than anyone in the history of this country". He was a fiery guy, known for the occasional bar fight.
