George and Amal Clooney are 'natural' parents

"Nina and I were actually the ones who answered the door when Amal came in", he said.

In a new interview with People, Clooney's father says the whole family was immediately smitten with the 39-year-old global human rights lawyer. She was so remarkable and he was so remarkable around her, ' said Nick, 83. "But by the time we had supper that night, it was clear there was a kindness to her and an inclusiveness".

"When George and Amal found out it was twins they were surprised, but also a little scared because they both had said that one was enough", the source revealed at the time.

Amal Clooney gave birth to Alexander and Ella Clooney in London's luxurious Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. "By the end of supper, I started looking over at Nina and saying, 'Look ouuuut, this could be trouble for this young man!'"

And the couple - who married in Venice, Italy, in September 2014 - are said to be happier than ever following the births of their children.

George and Amal - who welcomed twins Ella and Alexander on June 6 - were charmed by each other.

'The rooms were prepared 10 days prior to the couple's arrival with everything from furniture to an in-room entertainment system and fridges to flowers chosen on behalf of Amal and George to deck out the three suites, ' they added.

"I have twins myself and [George] always used to laugh about me looking so exhausted when the twins were small, and now I have the last laugh", Swinton told reporters Thursday night at the NY premiere of "Okja", her new Netflix movie.

And Nick revealed he and his wife Nina are giving the new parents a wide berth for the mean time as they get to grips with their new roles.

But now that they're here, both Amal and George are completely over the moon.
