Lorde cops to Instagram account dedicated to onion rings: "It's me"

Fallon's show excitedly tweeted the news this afternoon, with a quote from Lorde that she "naively didn't realise it would be a thing" that she was conducting the vegetable-based espionage.

NOW, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has gotten a 100% confirmation that the account did indeed belong to Lorde, speaking to the singer herself!

She says she made the decision to take the account offline after worrying "people would throw onion rings at me on tour".

After a Newshub reporter asked the Royals singer's management team if she was behind the account, it was deleted from Instagram.

"Oh, God, it's me, it's me, it's me".

After some laughter from Fallon and the audience, Lorde added, "I feel like it reads like the kind of thing a pop star would do to look relatable. It was a amusing thing with my friends on the tour, and I was like. this is a good pastime".

The 20-year-old is rumored to have had a secret Instagram used exclusively to review onion rings. "I think they're underrated as well". It's a bit lighter.

She was on the USA show to mark the official release of her second album "Melodrama" and to perform her song "Perfect Places".
