HTC's 'Squeezable' phone U11 set to launch in India today

The device is set to be launched at an event this Friday i.e. June 16. In the launch event, that will take place in New Delhi, the company will also announce the availability and price of the device.

That said, HTC U11 owners or those looking to buy the smartphone might want to invest in a sturdy protective case as well, to ensure the handset remains unharmed.

HTC U11 is available in Solar Red, Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue, Amazing Silver and Ice White color variant. We'll have to wait and watch if HTC decides to bring both the variants to India, or sticks to 4GB RAM model. In the Indian smartphone market, the HTC U11 will likely to be priced somewhere in between the Rs 45,000 and Rs 48,000. The USP of the device is its Edge Sense feature which will allow users to squeeze the smartphone to perform specific tasks. To recall, HTC launched the device last month at an event in Taipei and priced it reasonably in global markets. The another highlight of the HTC's new addition of U series smartphones is Sense Companion, a company's own AI personal assistant based system that learns the user's daily patterns to provide usage recommendations and friendly advice. It features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440x2560 pixels) Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. 3D glass screen designed for crisp, vivid images and text in any lighting condition - even in direct sunlight.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat now. The UltraPixel mode is four times more light sensitive than standard mode (best for low-light photos). It supports slow-motion and 4K video recording. The device also has a 16MP front-facing camera. Other features of the U11 includes 12 MP primary camera along with 16 MP secondary camera. There is a fingerprint sensor under its home button. Like the U Ultra, the U11 nixes the 3.5mm headset jack but includes an adapter. HTC U11 packs a 3000mAh battery, and supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The upcoming HTC flagship phone is an IP67 certified one and weighs 169 grams.
