Steve Bruce's Aston Villa meanwhile have a trip to Colchester United, and Reading play host to Gillingham.

Football League chief executive Shaun Harvey, ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit and British ambassador to Thailand Brian Davidson conducted today's draw in Bangkok.

The tie, which will take place week commencing Monday 7th August, will see a repeat of the 2015 round one tie, which ended in a 1-0 win for Fulham at Adams Park.

City are one of 70 clubs going into the draw, with Championship new boys Hull and Middlesbrough joining with the Premier League clubs in the second round.

Rs were one of 18 clubs seeded in the southern half of the draw, meaning they could not face any of their Championship rivals.
