Real rejects United's Morata bid, say reports

Alvaro Morata has been convinced to join Manchester United this summer by two of the club's Spanish contingent, according to reports.

United have been heavily linked with a move for the Spain global and reportedly had a €60 million bid rejected last week, with Jose Mourinho's side said to be planning a new offer.

The striker's agent has also waded into the ongoing transfer saga, saying that Morata wants a bigger role and he could not confirm if he would stay with Real Madrid.

It was believed that the Red Devils would had been prepared the break the world record transfer fee that they set last summer in an attempt to bring the French worldwide to the Premier League.

But despite the 35-year-old's preference to remain at Old Trafford, sources say his name is likely to be on the club's list of released players to be published by the Premier League on Friday.

Although Morata won the double at Real Madrid, the Spaniard has not been happy with the lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane. "I can not say [if a deal will be closed soon] - we will see".

Sky Sports reported that United goalkeeper David de Gea was not included in the offer, while Real Madrid are thought to want in the region of 78 million pound ($100.66 million) for the 24-year-old Morata.

"He doesn't want to go through another season like that. I can not tell [if it will be done quickly], we'll see".

Despite not being considered a regular for Madrid this season Morata still contributed heavily to their La Liga and Champions League triumphs as he struck 18 goals in total across those competitions and 20 overall.

The Spain global, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United among others, scored 19 goals in all competitions for Madrid last term, but made just 14 starts in La Liga and played only five minutes across the club's Champions League semifinal and final encounters.

Morata simply wants to play football in 2017/2018 so that he can secure a spot in the Spain World Cup squad for next summer.
