Premier League Fixtures: Arsenal Face Soft End-Of-Season Run

Bookies reacted to the fixtures publication with William Hill making Chelsea 3/1 second favourites to retain their title, with Manchester City 2/1 favourites.

Following the announcement of the new Premier League season's fixtures list today, the Hammers have confirmed their second game, scheduled to be at home against Southampton, may have to be rearranged due to the World Athletics Championships being held at the London Stadium a week before.

Tottenham's first Premier League match at Wembley sees Chelsea provide the opposition, in the pick of the following weekend's fixtures. The Gunners then head for Stamford Bridge in the highlight of the fifth weekend's action, while West Ham tackle Tottenham on the weekend of September 23/24.

The weekend of December 9/10 sees Liverpool host Everton and City visit United in the first Manchester derby of the season. They have won more points on opening day than any other Premier League club (54) and haven't lost their opening game since 1998, when they went down to Coventry.

Chelsea begin the defence of their title with a home fixture at Stamford Bridge on the weekend of August 12/13 against Burnley, who had a awful time away from home last season.

The Eagles are searching for a new manager following Sam Allardyce's shock exit at the end of last season and several candidates have emerged in recent weeks.

Over the festive period, they will play Southampton on Boxing day and Swansea City on New Years Day, before finishing the campaign with games against West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City.

"We also hoped to have one of the big clubs for our first home game".
