Monster Hunter XX for Switch will only release in Japan

In a tweet, one of Capcom's community managers confirmed that they're focused on Monster Hunter World for Western audiences right now, and there's nothing concrete on the way for Switch at the moment. The Switch version offers new quests and monsters and gives players the chance to transfer their data from the 3DS version. Monster Hunter World is expected to release early 2018.

Look. Monster Hunter World looks unbelievable, and I'm going to buy that game. A PC release will follow at a later date. There'll also be a suit ability for luring monsters towards you, which will likely prove invaluable in setting traps and ambushes. Thanks to an interview from the PlayStation Live event at E3, however, we now know that the game will be shaking up the series in a number of significant ways.

Living and breathing ecosystem: Utilize the surrounding environment and wildlife to your advantage.

E3 has turned out to be a big week for news relating to the Monster Hunter franchise.

The new title is a ported version of the Nintendo 3DS version, in which players will be able to play the critically acclaimed RPG on the Switch with improved graphics and new features. Selecting the right loadout can help exploit enemy weaknesses to gain an advantage in battle. There was still speculation of whether this entry in the series was going to be a main game or a spin off as the addition of "World" after it's name sparked interest.

Seamless gameplay: Players and monsters can move from one map area to another freely and without loading screens whilst gameplay also dynamically transitions between night and day.
