Turkish foreign minister to visit Qatar on Wednesday - statement

According to the Kremlin, Putin and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday discussed the Qatar issue and "expressed a mutual interest in searching for ways to settle the crisis".
Qatar strongly rejects the allegations.
"Part of Russia's activity is to drive a wedge between the USA and our allies, writ large", said CBS News security contributor Frank Cilluffo, adding that the US can not let the incident undermine its relationship with Qatar, which hosts the largest American military base in the Middle East.
In Dubai, the UAE Minister of State said on Monday that the key solution to the ongoing diplomatic rift lies in Saudi Arabia. Turkey and Qatar have developed close ties over the years and reached agreement in 2014 to set up a Turkish military base there.
It noted that the cooperation agreement on the deployment of the Turkish armed forces in Qatar for the objective of military training entered into force on June 15, 2015, and work on its implementation began in October the same year.
Qatar is home to Al-Udeid, the largest United States airbase in the region, which houses around 10,000 troops. "The ports are open, the airports are open", Jubeir said alongside a silent Tillerson who had called last week for the embargo on Qatar to be "eased".

This diplomatic crisis marks a new low point within the Gulf Cooperation Council since 1992 when a shooting at the Saudi-Qatari border left two Qatari and one Saudi dead. Also on Sunday, Kuwait said Qatar was ready to listen to the concerns of Gulf Arab states that have severed diplomatic and economic ties with it, Saudi daily Arab News reported.
He seemed to be referring to comments last month made by the Saudi deputy crown prince Mohammed bin Salman that any struggle for influence between Riyadh and Tehran would take place "inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia".
Qatar Airways has made Doha a global hub in just a few years, but industry analysts say banning it from Gulf states' airspace could threaten its position as a major transcontinental carrier.
The countries have designated dozens of people and entities with alleged links to Qatar as terrorists.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE also criticize that "Qatar is destabilizing the regional situation by wielding its influence across the region through the Brotherhood".
