What might have made the Xbox One X reveal more impressive is if Microsoft had announced another major first party exclusive game to showcase the console's power. Unlike the Xbox One S, the Xbox One X will come in black - although it looks very like the white console in shape and design, as you can see above.
The Xbox One X will be available in stores November 7th worldwide as it looks to bounce back. It is much more powerful than the PS4 Pro, boasting 6 Teraflops over the Pro's 4.2 and 12GB of GDDR5 RAM over the Pro's 8GB.
Alongside the announcement Microsoft have added backwards compatibility with Xbox 1.
The promise of 4k experience on the gaming console is being kept with the help of the feature which the company calls "supersampling" which enables users to experience 4k without a 4k TV.
Lets just get this out of the way: the Xbox One X is a powerhouse. It showed off 42 titles during the press event - including the popular Forza Motorsport 7 - 22 of which were unique to Xbox. At $399, the Xbox One X could have given Sony a run for their money and solicited a price cut for PS4 consoles.
Phil Spencer, who is the director of the Xbox division, started out the event by setting the name for the new console developed by the company.
Sales of Xbox consoles now remain significantly behind those of the newer PlayStation models, which rumours suggest may be set to receive a price cut at Sony's E3 announcement on Monday.
Microsoft's latest console will also feature a Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies. The Xbox One X's engine will run at 1172MHz while the PS4 Pro's engine runs at 911MHz, although the most notable improvement comes when compared with the Xbox One, which runs at 853MHz. One of the key questions in play is if it will live up to the hype?
Some current Xbox One games will gain a boost from the Xbox One X's horsepower. [.] There's not a ton of work developers are having to do to get to 4K, and then they can spend the extra headroom they have and time to flawless the game they want to build. The Xbox One X uses a Hovis vapour chamber cooling system which also keeps the noise levels low. Especially with rumours suggesting that Sony might probably be announcing a price drop for the Pro at their E3 2017 conference.
