Golden State Warriors' MVP Kevin Durant adds an important title: champion

In the only Cavalier win, their bench combined for 23 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field. The Warriors won 129-120 t.

Newcomer Kevin Durant, who failed to win a championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder, had 39 points in the series-clinching game and was named the Finals MVP.

For the second time in three years, Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are NBA Champions.

Sure, the Warriors missed becoming the first undefeated champion, but 16-1 still gave Golden State the best winning percentage of any title team at.941.

Fans of the Golden State Warriors have been sharing memes celebrating the National Basketball Association champions' comeback year and title win.

After joining the Warriors in July 2016 - a decision which caused shockwaves in the National Basketball Association world among talk of a GSW "super team" - it took Durant just one season to win his first championship.

With stars like Durant and Steph Curry, they waltzed through the 2017 playoffs not losing a game until they played Cleveland in the finals.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who played on the 1995-96 Bulls, had the flawless response to these comments. "I know our front office is going to continue to try to put our ball club, put our franchise in a position where we can compete for a championship year in and year out", James said. And I just tried to do that, but also be aggressive.

Sometimes lost in all the chatter about a possible Warriors' dynasty is the fact that Golden State plays lovely, often unselfish team ball. Kerr wasn't yet ready to disclose his thoughts on what might be on the horizon, telling "To be honest, I'm just happy to be able to be a part of this".

James had 41 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Durant's stellar play all season and throughout the playoffs vindicated Golden State's massive payout to the superstar in a controversial off-season deal.

"For me personally, I left everything on the floor every game, all five games".

Kyrie Irving, the second-best player on the Cavaliers, was confident the team can challenge the Warriors again.

"They're so committed to each other and unselfish", Kerr added of his players.

Durant only scored five points during the surge, but his presence drew so much attention from the Cavaliers defense that open shots were created for his teammates.

Irving went 0-for-6 in the fourth quarter after starting the game 9-for-16.

"It's a team sport and I wanted to achieve the highest honor, which is win a championship", Durant said, saying it was fulfillment of a childhood dream.

Stephen Curry added 34 points, 10 assists and six rebounds as Golden State closed out its second title in three years after squandering a 3-1 lead a year ago.
