E3 2017: Spider-Man Swings On Through In New Gameplay

The Spider-man game that every PS4 user is waiting for just got a huge gameplay reveal at Sony's E3 2017 conference that also told us a lot about what we should expect from the game.

The PlayStation 4 has had a strong run, it's had incredible games, has had a good price point from the start, substantial new hardware releases, and more. There is presently no release date for the same.

This year that became apparent, as God of War, Spider-Man and Days Gone all showed up as expected, showed off gameplay as expected, but revealed no more than vague 2018 release windows. The game is a standalone chapter in the Uncharted series and is set to be released on August 22, 2017. Almost ten minutes of web-slinging combat, stealth and city traversal was shown off, culminating in the reveal of fan-favourite Miles Morales and a release window of 2018.

Though specifics are scarce at present, we did get a first look at some impressive in-game footage from the announce trailer. Among them are a handful of PSVR games, some of which are new.

Sony actually had a pre-show before its E3 2017 presentation with new trailers for the likes of Knack 2 and Gran Turismo Sport.

A new trailer for Destiny 2 was revealed.

So, for now, it seems like PlayStation 4 players will be isolated to their own platform, with other gamers on different systems being given the ability to play with each other.

Speaking to Eurogamer, PlayStation executive Jim Ryan said, "It's certainly not a profound philosophical stance we have against this", adding that Sony is "always" interested in talking with companies about things like this.

Sony says it has more than 15 hours of content planned for E3 Week, beginning with a press conference pre-show that begins at 8:00 p.m. But, this game title is now being prepped for an HD remake for the PlayStation 4.
