Chelsea 1st to visit Tottenham at Wembley in Premier League

The fixture list was announced on Wednesday morning, with all 20 teams playing each other, home and away, over a 38-game season. Stoke City finished solidly in mid-table yet again last season, and whilst Mark Hughes continues to do an impressive job, supporters could perhaps be forgiven for growing a little exhausted of the monotony of the Potters seasons. The season starts away at Brighton and the closing day of the season sees City also away, at Southampton.
Tottenham's first Premier League match at Wembley sees Chelsea provide the opposition, in the pick of the following weekend's fixtures. Each only picked up two wins, with two draws and two defeats.
Some teams were probably thankful to be facing Jose Mourinho's United towards the end of the season. And obviously, you want to avoid the top 5-6 teams as they provide the toughest tests, as we experienced within the opening 7 fixtures last season.
Every game in the Premier League is very special, so bring it on.
- Manchester City have won each of their last six opening day contests in the Premier League, the best current run in the competition. After winning their first three league games, defeat at home to Pep Guardiola's side was followed by defeat at Watford just a week later.
City begin their festive fixtures at home to Bournemouth on December 23, before travelling to newly-promoted Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
Including overseas rights, the present Premier League broadcasting deal is worth £8.3 billion. They didn't do that in England this past season.
Friday nights, Saturday mornings and Super Sundays are commonplace in the Premier League calendar and the addition of Saturday nights would take even more games away from the 3 pm blackout slot.
