Ms Bloom said the comedian had a First Amendment right to make fun of the president.
Bloom said the Trump image was a response to then-candidate Trump's campaign comment that former Fox news anchor Megyn Kelly had "blood coming out of her eyes", and that it wasn't a threat of violence against Trump, whom they called "the most woman-hating tyrannical president" in US history. "It was a parody of Trump's own sexist remarks taken to an extreme absurdist visual", She said.
Following the photos release, Griffin says she has lost a number of comedy jobs.
"I sincerely apologize", Griffin said in a video on Twitter.
Griffin reiterated the apology she posted on social media late on Tuesday, but remained defiant, saying, "I'm not afraid of Donald Trump, he's a bully", adding that she meant to continue making jokes about the president.
"If you don't stand up, you get run over", the Fashion Police alum said.
Comedian Kathy Griffin has claimed Donald Trump is using the furore around a photo in which she appeared with a likeness of his severed head to divert attention from the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in the USA election. She's also hired a criminal defense attorney, Dmitry Gorin, in response to the alleged investigation from the Secret Service. When asked how she felt about being fired from CNN she said it hurt her: "Look, there's a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me".
Griffin says she will not refrain from joking about Trump in the future.
However, she didn't seem cowed saying the President had gone after "the wrong red head".
Saturday Night Live star turned senator Al Franken also withdrew an invite to Griffin for an event promoting his new book, Giant Of The Senate. One could argue her earlier post would have fallen into that category as well. The image is too disturbing, I understand how it offends people, it wasn't amusing, I get it.
The Uptown Theatre's cancellation follows six other venues, including bergenPAC in New Jersey.
Griffin shared a photo and a video from the shoot prompting CNN to fire Griffin from her decade-long gig hosting a New Year's Eve special with Anderson Cooper. Squatty Potty, which had previously announced a partnership with Griffin, announced Wednesday it had dropped her as a spokeswoman.
