Some variation of those words was written or uttered somewhere nearly one year ago. What are the things to watch for tonight in the rare Monday night NBA Finals game?
Warriors fans are already freaking out a little bit.
"No, I feel this is the game we've got to get", he said, "or it's over".
"Oh, God", said Monte Cristo, "your vengeance may sometimes be slow in coming, but I think that then it is all the more complete."
The Cleveland Cavaliers avoided an embarrassing sweep by way of a record-breaking Game 4 to force Game 5 in the 2017 NBA Finals on Monday, June 12 (Tuesday in Manila). The GSW lead the series at 3-1 but can ill-afford to absorb another loss. But it was a flawless storm for the Cavaliers as so many things contributed to the Warriors' collapse.
With Durant - not to mention Klay Thompson - in the fold, Curry doesn't have to carry the offense, but he's got to be assertive and have his moments in Game 5. Stephen Curry will always have a higher true shooting percentage and Tim Duncan will always have the better defensive rating.
The addition of Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors was supposed to do many things.
Of course, calling the people that inspire you to get out of bed in the morning boring isn't usually a good way to keep them happy.
The Cavaliers became the first team in NBA Finals history to rally from 3-1 down previous year in dethroning the Warriors.
He has also stepped up his free-throw game, averaging 91.4 percent for his attempts in this Finals series, a big 3.2 percent increase in his usual 88.2 percent free throw accuracy throughout his career. "It's just the next game in line".
James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love know they aren't out of this yet - after all, they came back from a daunting deficit a year ago on the way to the city's first major team sports title in 52 years. Not going to happen in Game 5. Maybe he will, I don't know.
"Just try to make him play in a crowd as much as possible".
Kerr was joking about Green. In those games, Curry had 28, 31, and 31 points, and shot a combined 14-of-29 from three. The Cavs had 11 offensive boards in Game 4 - four from Tristan Thompson. But the officials said the scorer's table mistakenly gave a technical meant for Kerr to Green. They have four All-Stars.
LEBRON JAMES: Well, I can see it from both sides. Got to come out with some fire and get it done. They were eight-point favorites despite having to play without suspended forward Draymond Green. This series could be tied 2-2 but the Cavaliers went scoreless the last 3:08 in Game 3 after leading by six.
The Cavaliers made sure there were no comebacks in Game 4.
Or a franchise-record 86 in the first half. Enough with the unrest over the same teams meeting in the NBA Finals for the third straight year.
"You have to give them credit for how they played", Durant said. "We're ready to live in it".
Curry's play in last year's playoffs became a hot topic of debate, both during them and long after they were completed.
James has grown accustomed to being in this situation, but he wishes the Cavaliers would stop backing themselves in a corner. "Like I said, I think because of experience". "Whatever he's doing, he should keep doing it".
"We have to play well", Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said. "Obviously we've won it here before". We're battle tested, they're battle tested. "We look forward to the challenge".
