UN condemns Hamas for tunnel under schools in Gaza

It quoted a spokeswoman for the Red Cross in Gaza saying the worldwide organization exerted extensive effort to get information about 19 Palestinians who have been missing since Israel's war on Gaza in 2014.

In recent weeks, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states have declared that they are cutting off ties with Qatar, due to its support of terror groups.

Hamas has denied building the tunnel.

Hamas spokesman Salah Bardaweel dismissed suggestions Hamas should step aside, but acknowledged a deal to improve Gaza's lot is unlikely as long as the 82-year-old Abbas, who runs autonomous enclaves in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, remains in power.

"All the parties, in light of the emergence of a new U.S. administration, have made a decision to pressure Qatar, which has had a different approach to many issues including the Palestinian issue, dealing with Hamas and all Palestinian factions. and helping Gaza weather the blockade", he said.

The Palestinian group Islamic Jihad in Gaza issued a statement saying that Jumaa was one of its members and was in fact aged 22. Hamas violently interrogated dozens of people and claimed this netted dozens of informers. Bringing money to Gaza is very hard when Israel and Egypt won't allow it.

The Palestinian Hamas movement controlling the Gaza Strip Wednesday lambasted Saudi Arabia's condition to restore ties with Qatar adding that the current Qatar-Arab fallout will favor Israel, which will exploit the situation against the Palestinian people.

In 2006, months after Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza, Hamas defeated Fatah in parliamentary elections.

Mkhaimar Abusada, an independent Gaza political analyst, said the pressure on Qatar could increase Hamas' political and financial isolation.

Hamas said it was sabotaged from the start. He accused Saudi Arabia of siding with "American and Zionist calls to put Hamas on the terrorism list".

Israeli soldiers opened fire at Palestinians who were throwing stones near the border fence in the Gaza Strip on Friday, killing one man and wounding four others, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said dozens of Palestinians had gathered at the fence and were trying to damage it. Soldiers on the Israeli side of the border fired warning shots in the air after their calls to halt were ignored.
