Porto starlet Silva set for AC Milan signing

The Portugal worldwide reportedly arrived in Milan on Sunday evening to agree personal terms and undergo the first part of his medical at the club's Milan Lab facilities at their Milanello training ground.

AC Milan have signed forward Andre Silva from Porto for an initial £33million.

He would become their fourth recruit in as many weeks following the signing of Swiss left-back Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Ivorian Franck Kessie (Atalanta) and Argentinian centre-back Mateo Musaccio.

"Andre's eyes displayed how much pleasure he has to wear our shirt".

"After visiting Milanello and passing his medical, we can consider Silva to be a new Milan player".

Silva himself confirmed that he "was very happy to be here, at this great club".

"Milan announces to have signed on a permanent deal from FC Porto the player André Silva, who has signed a contract until 30 June 2022", a statement released by the club read. The club has been suffering in recent years both on and off the pitch and are now looking to change their story after a change in management. He's also made his mark for the Portugal national side, scoring seven goals in his first eight games.

Milan finished sixth in Serie A last season, earning a place in next season's Europa League qualifiers and ending a three-season absence from European competition. They were bought by the Chinese-backed Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux company in April and the new owners have shown their ambition with heavy investment in the squad this summer.
